Preggo Moment

Ok so no pictures to go with this post, just something that happened today that I swear only happened because of my current state.

So- we have been here a year and our Costco membership needs to be renewed. (They don't have Sam's otherwise we would shop there) Costco is crazy, I mean Crazy here on the weekends. We mostly just go for gas and soon diapers in bulk. (Sidebar- in Oregon you can't pump your own gas, so you have to wait in a 20 minute line at Costco every time you want to fill up - one more reason I love Missouri:) So I was out, I mean out of gas. I decided I would take my lunch break to fill up, renew our membership and grab some food. Well there are two things that I pretty much want all the time this pregnancy - pizza and ice cream. Well Costco has both at their snack bar. Perfect.

So I wait in the 20 minute line, fill up with 14 gallons, funny my car holds 13, but it was really low. (Like the little computer thing that tells me how many miles I can go until I am empty was literally beeping and flashing zero) So I pay the $40 on my debit card. One thing down. I go inside and wait at the customer service desk to renew my membership. Ok $50 more dollars on my debit card. Now last thing - yum soft serve and pizza. I go wait in line, order, and pulled out my debit card to pay. The lady looks at me like I am crazy and says, "Oh no, we don't take cards." What, I just paid about for two things at this very store with my debit card in the last 5 minutes and this lady is staring at me like I just pulled out gold pieces and try to pay with them!!!! I also know they take them in the check out lane, so I was very confused. I just stood there staring at her. (By the way, one major preggo side effect I have seriously had is the lack of memory -in this case it was just not able to comprehend what she was saying) I stood there silent for probably 20 seconds then was like ok, I will just take the pizza. (I have always been the type, just ask Geoff, to not deal with things very well when I am hungry. I am pretty laid back about most things, but if I get to a certain point of hunger, I am not fun - pregnant or not - by the way, did i mention I was starving at this point!) I had $2 cash, and no sales tax here, that is what a slice cost. I got my pizza and left Costco.

The whole way back to work, I was like, why did I choose the pizza. I don't even want it, I just didn't think that eating ice cream only for lunch was a good idea and at least pizza is considered a food item not dessert. I called Geoff to tell him about my experience. He had a new guy he was training with him in the car, so I am sure the guy was like who is the crazy lady calling you all upset about her ice cream. That is when I saw the golden arches, yes McDonald's!!! They will take my money in the form of a debit card. I go through the drive thru and order a mcflurry - delicious. The best part about this whole story and why I am even telling it is, I was literally eating my slice of pizza, and going through a fast food drive thru. I have never in my life been eating while waiting in line for another food item. I am sure the McDonald's crew saw my pizza when I pulled up to pay, I didn't try to hide it. Oh well - just one more thing that I can add to my preggo list of things that I never would have thought to experience until now:) (By the way, overall I am eating healthy - it was just Friday and I wanted something besides my normal lean cuisine and and apple for lunch)

I got my Mcflurry and happily returned to work. I am glad the weekend is here!

28 Weeks - 3rd Trimester!

I have hit it - my last trimester!!! We are 2/3 through this whole process. I think the exciting stuff is just about to start!

Front view - yes my arms, just arms, are burnt - awesome. (preggo skin burns for all of you that didn't believe the books that you read - even if you normally don't burn, I am proof that you can)

Side view - I am just starting to get asked by strangers when I am due. (Funny b/c I think I have been huge for awhile now)
Here is where I got my lovely burn. Geoff and I were in the mood for some baseball. Well Eugene doesn't have a pro baseball team, or any pro teams at all, so we went to the University of Oregon's version of a baseball team. It is their first year, so they don't look quite like the Cards. We had fun any how.
So I had a dream that the baby came and we didn't have anywhere for her to sleep. I panicked, woke up Geoff and told him all about it. The next day I went and bought the mattress and bedding. I washed it all and Geoff helped me put it all on - whew - now I feel a little better. Baby stay inside, we are not ready for you yet.
I went with the purple butterfly's - they just spoke to me for some reason. Plus they match perfectly to the beautiful wedding quilt that we have on the extra bed in the room.
Here is Geoff's new pride and joy - the stroller. When we were registering, he took this part very seriously. He tried them all out, pushed them around, and we picked out this one. We love it! Here is Geoff figuring out how we can shield the baby from weird people when we are out it public.
Another view. We have pushed it around the apartment and even joked about taking it with us on a walk, but we have decided to wait until it has an occupant to do that.

Miss you all!!! Oh very exciting news! The Kuhl clan is coming to Oregon for a visit! They will be here in a few weeks! I can't wait.

Happy B-day Mckinley! I can't belive you are already 2!

27 weeks

Here I am with my big belly. It was gorgeous here this weekend - 80 degrees both days! (no humidity!)

The babies room is just starting to come together. I figured I would take a picture so you can see the step by step process. After lots of debates, we have decided to keep the double bed in the room for now. (We hope to have visitors this summer) The room is not huge, but it works for now. I think we have narrowed down the bedding selections to 3 choices, Monkeys (green and tan), butterflys (Purple and pink), or ladybugs (Pink, red, and black). I am hoping to make the decision soon, I think it will really help pull the room together. Also we are closing in on a name, which will go on the wall over her crib.

The baby got a new bookshelf/storage thing. One of the projects I worked on while Geoff was away in Montana. She has lots of stuff already, so I figured might as well organize it. As for our first born...
He participated with Geoff in a 5k run for Bark in the Park (I walked the 2k with some co-workers) benefiting the local humane society(Larry is from the Humane society in STL, so we are big supporters of it). The event was not as big as St. Louis' annual one, but still really fun. I forgot my camera, but this is Larry when we got home, he was beat!
On a side note. So Eugene is affectionately refereed to as "Tracktown USA" basically running is a big deal here. Well I thought it was about time to check out a track meet. I went with my friend Andrea. It was great. So many events going on all at once. We also happen to be there on a special night where a relay team from the University of Oregon was going to attempt to break the 4 by 1 mile relay collegiate record. It was very exciting to watch!

Here is the final baton pass! They let spectators down on the track to give the runners some extra encouragement. I stayed in the stands because I already had a great view.
Here he is crossing the finish line. The old record was 16:08, so they shaved off 5 seconds. Pretty cool!
The relay team doing a victory lap.

All is well otherwise. I had a slight scare on Friday - pretty much I was in a lot of pain - Dr. Geoff fed me water. It worked, so I guess it was dehydration. I go to the doc on Tuesday, so we will tell her all about it and how to avoid that from happening again:)

STL Visit

I came home for a much needed visit! Mary Anne and my sister's threw a great baby shower in my honor. Here is me with one of the gifts - a "tree hugger" onesie!
I gave Jackson and Mckinley their b-day presents - reversible super hero capes. Thanks mom for helping me get them made. Jackson's had race cars, Mckinley got Dora.

Just a cute picture, they are getting so big!
Me will all my sisters at the shower- not often we are all in the same place at once. L-R - Jen, Steph, Me, Robin, Sara, and Kim. They are all so tiny - especially now that I am huge! Next visit home will be for Kim's big day - the wedding.

I had a great trip home. Thanks for making me feel so special! On a side note, yesterday, May 9th, marked my one year anniversary of living in Oregon.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's day to all the wonderful women I have in my life. Thanks also for all the warm wishes - its kind of neat to add a new holiday to my list that I get to celebrate!
Mom in a snugglie - yes she has one!

Kim when she can up for a visit and dropped off her son on the other side of the country - don't worry I will bring him back one day:)
